About the Team

Orlando Science High School · Since 2012

Clockwork Mania, a 501(c)(3) FIRST Robotics Competition team from Orlando Science High School, has been advancing STEM opportunities since 2012. Across thirteen seasons, the program has qualified for the FRC World Championship ten times—an outcome built from disciplined design reviews, deep manufacturing practice, and student leadership that carries far beyond match play. Students graduate with portfolios that reflect real engineering judgement: CAD fluency, controls integration, disciplined communications, and evidence of service through outreach that spans Central Florida and international partner communities alike.

Our Subteams

Mechanical Team

Captain: Armando Collazo De Jesus

Fabricates competition-critical systems, from drivetrains to end effectors, integrating CAD intent with precise machining and assembly to keep the robot reliable under match stress.

Design Team

Captain: Phillip Silva

Owns the full CAD pipeline—layout studies, mechanism iteration, and design for manufacturability—translating game strategy into models the shop can build with confidence.

Programming Team

Captain: Chandan Kolla & Kevin Wang

Delivers autonomous routines, teleop controls, and sensor fusion so the machine responds crisply on the field, with clean code reviews and measured on-robot validation.

Electrical Team

Captain: Anum Ali

Architects power distribution, signal routing, and control system integration with an emphasis on serviceability—clean looms, labeled paths, and robust test procedures.

Business & Communications Team

Captain: Sanjana Nagarur

Coordinates sponsorship stewardship, grant pipelines, and professional storytelling so partners see a return on investment and students learn real-world presentation skills.

Social & Marketing Team

Captain: Emily Xiao & Aarika Rao

Shapes brand voice, media drops, and community-facing campaigns that turn match footage and shop milestones into narratives sponsors and families can rally behind.

Outreach Team

Captain: Cecily May

Plans STEM activations—from school demos to international camps—so Clockwork Mania’s impact scales beyond the competition carpet and into classrooms worldwide.

Strategy Team

Captain: Josef Junga

Bridges scouting, pick lists, and match planning with drive-coach input, distilling hours of field data into decisions that maximize alliance potential when stakes are highest.

Team Structure

Clockwork Mania organizes into two primary divisions — the Robot Division and the Logistics Division — each owning a distinct slice of season execution. Subteams plug into those divisions through a five-step formation model: recruit interest, define charter and deliverables, assign mentors, establish check-in cadence, and measure outcomes against competition and outreach milestones.
